A Comparison Game for Your PreSchooler
June 16, 2008 3:05 pm Games and ActivitiesTeach your preschooler how to compare things. Begin by using himself as an object. Explain what “taller” means, and ask him to compare himself to different objects around the house - is he taller than the table, the refrigerator, his teddy bear, the dog, you…?
Once he’s grasped the concept, use other words for him to compare - shorter, faster, younger etc.
Have fun!

I really need to play this with my preschooler. At the moment she gets lots of thing sback the front, for example, we should give this to the toddler because it is too big for me!

Bridget loves playing the comparison game . . . although it inevitably turns into a contest to her for some reason. Hmph.

Lol - yes comparisons can turn into competitions pretty quickly in our house, too. Especially between the twin sisters.
I do like comparisons when they lead into conversations about difference, though.
Preschool Mama - I have tagged you for a meme if you’d like to play
